Optical Day – This event is for individuals with a current prescription for glasses who need to obtain prescription glasses. Medi-Cal covers one comprehensive eye exam every two years at no cost to you. The optometrists listed below accept Medi-Cal. You can call one of these optometrists or visit their office to schedule an appointment for an eye exam. After your exam, ask for a copy of your prescription for glasses.
Individuals in need of reading glasses or repairs and/or adjustments for their current glasses are also welcome to attend. Optical Days are on a drop-in basis. Project Homeless Connect has a limit of one pair of prescription glasses per person per year. Please do not line up before 9:30am, you will be asked to leave.
If you are not eligible to receive Medi-Cal benefits, you may get an eye screening (not a comprehensive eye exam) at our Community Day of Service (@Bill Graham Auditorium) so you can get prescription glasses. The next Community Day of Service will be on July 10th, in the Bayview. Stay tuned for more details!
