PHC75 Impact

November 2, 2019

On October 16th, we hosted our 75th Community Day of Service. More than a thousand people experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness joined us to receive services.

The goal of our events is to make access to services more efficient and effective. Below are the results of some feedback from our recent event!

  • 96% Said that they feel better now about their overall outlook and wellness than prior to attending the Community Day of Service.
  • 93% of Participants were satisfied with the services that they came to receive.
  • 81% Received a service that they could not have otherwise received.

“Keep up the good work!”

“I appreciate you in the utmost!”

“Everyone supporting us at PHC is wonderful!”

 Volunteer Feedback:

100% Reported that they felt their time had a positive impact on the community!

“I loved connecting with the community and being able to provide comfort and smiles. I also loved working with the other volunteers. I met quite a few and made some new friends!”

“The highlight of volunteering was connecting with people who are experiencing homelessness on a one-to-one basis in a safe environment where I can actually help them.”

Other Highlights:

Governor Gavin Newsom, who founded PHC as Mayor of San Francisco in 2004, toured the event and reflected upon the expansion of services and increased effectiveness of PHC. Governor Newsom provided a Commendation to PHC for our services and impact!

We were honored to accept a Proclamation from Senator Scott Weiner in honor of our services to the community!

500+ Volunteers joined us to provide services, offer reading glasses, escort Participants throughout the event, check people in, and more! To date, we have had more than 40,000 community volunteers attend a PHC Community Day of Service!

Thank you to the sponsors who made PHC75 Possible!
