A Thank You Letter to a Donor… from a Participant

November 4, 2018

Dear Donor of Project Homeless Connect,

For as many times as I have heard the phrase “words cannot express…”spoken, I never thought I would find myself in the position in which I would actually find myself unable to come up with some words to mark an occasion.

When I received the call from Project Homeless Connect that there was a possibility that I might soon be in possession of an Apple MacBook Pro, I thought someone was playing a cruel joke on me. When I got the call to come in and collect the MacBook Pro, I continued to be in a state of denial. But when I turned on the MacBook Pro and logged into the computer, I felt a sense of hope trickle back into my soul.

I’ve been homeless for several years and have had the majority of my possessions, including an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPhone 7 Plus all stolen. I won’t ruminate on the negative. I only tell you that so I can really tell you that your donation has wiped all of those negative feelings out, restored hope in my heart, and has enabled me to begin to pull my life together.

So while words cannot express the overwhelming sense appreciation I have for your kindness, I will say, simply THANK YOU.

Thank you a million times over.

With the greatest appreciation & warmest regards,

Michael J (PHC Participant)

Update from PHC: Michael recently found housing and is continuing to work towards his goal of employment. Michael is excited to get back into the world of employment and shares that this now feels possible with a laptop to support his search and career path. Before Michael ran into his challenges, he was involved with marketing and branding which is all computer centered.
